Our wildlife

Endangered species and iconic wildlife

More than 600 animals and over 30 species of game, including Kruger lions, white rhinos and buffalo.

On the reserve

Brown and white lions

The brown and white lion prides live separately in the Predator Camp and are fed on alternating days.

African wild dog

An endangered predator reintroduced to the area, one of Africa’s most elusive.

Hippo and crocodile

Hippos and Nile crocodiles share the reserve with cheetahs and buffalo.

Antelope

More than 20 types, including sable, roan, eland and gemsbok.

The Wildlife Centre

Ambassadors of their species, among them a white Bengal tiger, many of them rescued, rejected, hand-reared or being rehabilitated.

Ocelot

Another ambassador you may meet on an Ambassador Tour.

Clouded leopard

One of the ambassador animals; Ambassador badges are sold at the Wildlife Wish Stand.

Fennec fox

Also look out for the bat-eared fox, serval, Eurasian lynx and pygmy hippo.

Ambassador Tours

Learn about the species in our care, why they are here and the role they play in the environment. The non-feeding tour runs at 10:00 every day. The feeding tour runs at 15:30 on feeding days (Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday), and the animals fed may vary.

There is no extra charge for the tours. A donation box supports our enrichment projects.

Birds

From the vulture hide you can watch the rare Cape vulture, and the Waterfowl Park, next to the Chobe Café, has waterfowl from around the world along a freshwater stream, including vocal trumpeter swans.
